Matrons can bank on NAB for ball

Narromine News 08 Apr, 2011
The Macquarie Matrons are thrilled to be able to announce a new partnership with the NAB that will see them come on board as the major sponsor for the 2011 ball.

“The whole team at NAB is delighted to announce our major sponsorship of the iconic Macquarie Matrons for 2011/2012,” said Brian Armitage, Senior Partner Dubbo Business Banking and Karl Sinclair, Regional Agribusiness Manager in a joint statement issued regarding the sponsorship of the ball.

Skye Rush, Macquarie Matrons’ co-president, shared the excitement of the committee of having NAB come on board for 2011.

“The Macquarie Matrons have been especially fortunate to come to an agreement with NAB to become the major sponsor for our event this year,” she said.

“NAB has a significant presence in the Macquarie Valley and has shown true generosity and commitment to the region through its community-based activities. We feel this is an excellent fit with the Macquarie Matrons’ ethos.”

Mrs Rush was thrilled that the team at NAB had committed not just to providing financial support to the event, but had taken its level of commitment a step further by involving staff as volunteers in the lead-up to and the night of the event.

“The enthusiasm of the NAB staff to get behind this amazing event and supporting us in such a range of activities is unprecedented and we feel so fortunate to have been able to develop this partnership,” Mrs Rush said.

“NAB is thrilled that the support of the Macquarie Matrons Ball will see a direct benefit to the local community through the primary charity for this year, the Westhaven Association,” added Brian Armitage and Karl Sinclair of NAB.

Since the inception of the Macquarie Matrons in 1998 the committee has raised in excess of $750,000 to support a wide variety of charities including The Smith Family, Angel Flight, CAN Assist and The Millennium Foundation.

The Macquarie Matrons also distribute part of the funds raised into the Macquarie Regional Support Fund, which directly support the local communities of Trangie, Tottenham, Warren and Narromine. The major beneficiary of the 2011 event is Dubbo-based Westhaven.

“We very much look forward to the success of the ball in the knowledge that there is a direct benefit flowing through to Westhaven providing significant community benefits to the greater Central Western area,” Mr Armitage and Mr Sinclair said.

The NAB Macquarie Matrons Gala Ball will be held on September 17 and the committee is now actively seeking further sponsorship and fundraising items.
