The Macquarie Matrons Biennial Ball is the major highlight of the social calendar in regional NSW. As well as a glittering black-tie event it is the major fundraiser for the area with proceeds raised contributing to essential services for local communities, including Childflight, Royal Flying Doctor Service, The Smith Family Learning for Life Program, CAN Assist Dubbo and The Millenium Foundation.
The Ball, as well as being a major fundraiser, is an opportunity for the local communities and interstate guests to gather and enjoy a glamorous night including a three course meal, entertainment, visual displays, live and silent auctions and of course, celebrity guests. The Ball attracts over 650 people and tickets are snapped up quickly.
Special Guests have included MP Tony Lawler (former Nationals Federal Member for Parkes), radio personality Alan Jones, Ernie Dingo, Ben Dark, Nancy Bird Walton, Australian Swimming's Head Coach Brian Sutton, Ita Buttrose, Catriona Rowntree and footballer, Phil Kearns.
