Macquarie Matrons were incorporated in 1998 and are based in the fertile Macquarie Valley region of New South Wales, encompassing Narromine, Warren, Trangie and Tottenham.

You will be pleasantly surprised to see that the committee is one of young women in their late twenties and thirties who dreamed of the idea to host a charity ball, mainly due to frustration at the lack of such events held in Regional NSW and the need to support charities within their area.

Pooling resources from backgrounds in science, finance, journalism, public relations, hospitality, teaching and agricultural economics, they created one of the most groundbreaking fundraising events in NSW, a precedent that is yet to be matched. Their first glamorous Biennial Ball was held in 1999.

All four functions have been sold out within days of the invitations being sent. Over 600 people attend the black tie gala event, enjoying an evening of fine dining and being entertained by 'Big Band' style musicians, lighting displays, live and silent auctions and special guests. The evening is displayed on big screens so every guest can sit back, be entertained and enjoy the visual display.
