The Macquarie Matrons Committee was founded in 1998 by likeminded rural women who felt they could raise large sums of money at one event for charities that were relevant to the committee and their communities.

From their first Inaugural biennial event in 1999 to their 2007 event, fundraising efforts have exceeded $600,000 for the Charities they have carefully selected.

The Macquarie Matrons look forward to seeing their guests at their bienniel ball to be held on the 19th September 2009 at the Namoi Cotton Gin, Gin Gin.
